The control mechanism of leaders

The control mechanism of leaders

Leaders often have a highly developed control mechanism.
Not because they’re control freaks.
But because they’ve learned to be responsible.

And responsibility feels safer when you’re in control.

But in transition, this mechanism works against you.

Because transition requires letting go.
To not know.
To trust a process you can’t control.

And that’s where things go wrong.

Because letting go feels like giving up responsibility.
Not knowing feels like failure.
Trust feels like being naive.

So you keep trying to control what can’t be controlled.
And that makes you tired.

Not because control is bad.
But because you use it at the wrong time.

Transition doesn’t require more control.
It requires a different perspective on what safety is.
