Self Employment (Independence) as a Question of Identity

Self Employment Independence as a Question of Identity

Becoming self-employed is not a business decision.
It is a question of identity.

The question is not: can I be an entrepreneur?
The question is: who am I without this structure?

Because structures don’t just provide security.
They also provide identity.

Your title defines how others see you.
Your organization gives direction to your day.
Your colleagues confirm who you are.

And when you let go of that structure, those anchor points disappear.
You are no longer a manager. No longer a director. No longer an expert within a familiar
system.

You are yourself.

And that can be confronting.
Because you have to rediscover what is important to you.
Without the external validation you were used to.

Independence therefore requires something other than a business plan.
It requires self-insight.

To know who you are and what you want to offer.
Before you start.

Contact me if you need support,
with that,
Warm regards,
Frederik
