Responsibility without direction

Responsibility without direction

Leaders are used to taking responsibility.
But what if you no longer know what for?

You make decisions. You bear the consequences. You maintain an overview.
But inside, there is a question that keeps getting louder:

Why am I doing this?

Not meant cynically.
Not as doubt about your work.
But as an honest question about meaning.

Because responsibility without direction is exhausting.
It’s carrying without knowing where you’re carrying to.

And this is often the moment when leaders get stuck.
Not because they can’t do it anymore.
But because they no longer know why they should.

This is not a weakness.
This is the moment when your system asks for reorientation.

To choose again.
Not out of obligation, but out of desire.
