Why ‘almost done’ is the most dangerous moment
‘Almost there’ is a treacherous feeling.
You feel that you are almost there.
That you almost know what to do.
That you are almost ready to take the step.
But almost is not enough to move forward.
And ‘almost’ can take years.
Because almost gives the illusion of progress without the confrontation of
change.
It provides comfort without commitment.
And in the meantime, you remain where you don’t want to be.
The dangerous thing about ‘almost’ is that it feels like progress.
But it is stagnation in disguise.
Because there is a gap between ‘almost’ and ‘doing’.
And that gap is called fear.
Fear of failure. Fear of disappointment. Fear of what people think.
And that fear doesn’t go away by thinking more.
That fear goes away by moving.
So stop with ‘almost’.
Start with ‘now’.
