Sneak preview

My life had a unique beginning compared to most others. Denied the love of my biological parents, I was born and grew up in Surinam (South America) with a loving family. However, I have dedicated my entire life to studying the concept of Unconditional Love.

At the age of 8, I moved to the Netherlands (Europe), and by the time I was 11, I began living independently. Through this journey, I have gained profound knowledge about Resilience, Perseverance, and Overcoming Obstacles. Being reliant on the assistance of adults in my life, I closely observed their behavior: What drives them? What motivates them? How can I effectively influence and persuade them to help me? In order to survive, I honed my skills as a proficient People Pleaser.

When I turned 18, I committed myself to living by a set of principles and values: “Only provide assistance when explicitly asked for.” These values include speaking my truth, always being honest, showing compassion, practicing kindness, spreading love, being trustworthy, embracing my authentic self, acknowledging my responsibilities as a person of higher social status, and consciously acting with the utmost quality in every moment or refraining from acting at all.

At the age of 21, I took on the role of a manager, even though there was still much for me to learn. I was responsible for a department consisting of 8 individuals out of a total of 40 employees. When I eventually left the company after 9 years, my department still had the same number of employees, while the overall workforce had grown to 250. Over the past decade, I have continued to hold managerial and leadership positions primarily in the fields of Marketing & Sales within the IT industry. During this time, I have accumulated over 10,000 hours of experience in selling various products, services, solutions, and consultancy services. I have assisted numerous small and medium-sized businesses in navigating their growth and successfully transitioning to a mature phase.

During a “Sabbatical year”(2004), I needed to take time off to address my early “midlife crisis”, which manifested as burnout, severe depression, and a loss of confidence in everything I once identified with. I spent time on answering the big questions: Who am I? What is the true purpose of my life? How can I contribute to others in a meaningful way? It took me more than 9 months to answer them to an extend that gave me enough energy to face the world again.
I emerged from this challenging period like a phoenix rising from the ashes.

Have you ever heard the saying, “Teaching is the highest form of learning”?
Embracing this concept, In 2005 I became a self employed Professional Trainer and Personal Coach, helping organizations, teams, and individuals navigate the changes that their respective organizations were undergoing. With over well over 10,000 hours invested in developing expertise in leadership, personal leadership, sales, communication, and change management, I have honed my skills in analyzing situations, actively listening, persuading others, negotiating effectively, closing deals, and understanding group dynamics.

Groups consisting of individuals who have recently commenced employment, as well as executive board members of multinational corporations, and all those in between, are included. These groups span a wide range of industries, including banking, consultancy, accountancy, law, telecommunications, employment, universities, pharmaceuticals, medical, and a diverse array of small and medium-sized businesses across various sectors.

My education has primarily come from personal experiences rather than formal schooling. Although I have completed a 2-year Master-Practitioner in NLP course and attended several 10-day Vipassana meditation courses, these are the only structured educational programs I have pursued. Instead, I have relied on life itself as my greatest teacher. Through countless interactions with others, I have been inspired to delve deeper into the true meaning of life and the journey we all undertake.

As a result, the vast majority of my teachings are rooted in my own life experiences, reflections, and practical knowledge. I only share lessons that I have personally lived and strive to be a living embodiment of these principles. While I may not be an avid reader or fervent advocate of other people’s perspectives, I remain open to exploring genuine wisdom and different viewpoints.

I firmly believe that my teachings carry the most impact when they are grounded in my own familiarity and firsthand experiences. Drawing from my acquired knowledge, wisdom, and insights, I aim to guide others on their own journeys. However, it is important to note that I am constantly evolving as a student of life. Each day presents new opportunities for learning and growth, and I embrace this ongoing process.

While I have not pursued formal education extensively, I have found profound wisdom through personal encounters and introspection. By sharing my own experiences and continuously learning from life itself, I hope to inspire and guide others on their own paths of discovery.

In addition, I have been in a marital union for a span of 27 years and, alongside my former partner, have nurtured and guided four offspring who have now reached their twenties, pursuing higher education or embarking on their initial professional endeavors. I firmly believe that raising children with affection and attention is a commitment that surpasses mere employment, requiring one’s unwavering dedication. It is the most significant contribution a parent can make, extending beyond their own individuality.
The role of an ever-loving, supportive, and nurturing mother to our children should be elevated to a position of reverence.

I have a deep passion for both cooking and ancient civilizations that continue to coexist harmoniously with nature. These cultures fascinate me with their rich traditions, rituals, and overall way of life.

Additionally, those who are familiar with me often comment on my tendency to choose the more challenging paths towards achieving my goals, rather than opting for the easier routes. This inclination towards unexplored territories is something I cannot deny.

However, it is important to note that many of the significant decisions I have made in my life were driven by intuition and a deep connection to my inner self, rather than solely relying on logic and rationality. Despite the fact that my mind presented me with safer and more practical alternatives, I followed my heart wholeheartedly. I firmly believe that in those moments, I had no other option but to embark on the uncertain and obstacle-filled journeys I chose, as they were essential for my personal growth and self-discovery.
Even if given the chance to start over, I wouldn’t change a thing, as these experiences have shaped me into the authentic individual I am today.

In summary: Through my journey so far (57), I have gained valuable insights into many professional themes related to: Leadership, Personal leadership, Sales and Change Management. And into personal themes related to: Burn-out, Negative-selfimage, Depression and Relationships (in which self-esteem, self-acceptance, self-love are important components). These concepts hold great significance in my life and have shaped my perspective and understanding of myself and others.
